CATHOLIC LIFE IN SCHOOL
Christ is at the centre of our school and all we do flows from this starting point.
Please find below a flavour of some of the extra things we do put our faith into action in our school, parish, local community and for people world wide.
YEAR 2 WASHING THE FEET OF THE DISCPLES AND THE LAST SUPPER.
Year 2 re-enacted this important story with their teachers enacting the part of Jesus.
YEAR 6 REFLECTION ON LENT
After a busy morning completing SATs practice papers, the children had some time to be creative and reflect on the true meaning of Lent. They worked together to create these beautiful pieces of artwork.
ASH WEDNESDAY AND LENT
The junior children attended Mass today and were invited to receive ashes. Ashes were also offered to our infant children.
Each class, has sent home a prayer bag. Each children will take it home for one night to share this with their family and to take time out to pray in a special way.
RECEPTION COME AND PRAY
Reception invited their families to join with them in their daily prayer and liturgy.
FAITH IN ACTION CAKE SALE
Our Faith In Action team organised and ran the event very well. They have chosen to buy a winter survival kit, emergency food, emergency water, a vegetable garden, a super soup kitchen and trees for life to help those in need. Thank you very much!
SCHOOL CHOIR SINGING CAROLS AT OUR LOCAL CARE HOME
Our wonderful choir sang at The Oaks care home. They sang beautifully bringing a tear to lots of eyes. It was wonderful, heartwarming and made everyone feel very festive indeed.
CAFOD ASSEMBLIES
Mr and Mrs Ellison are frequent visitors to school. They led an assembly to tell all the children about Cafod World Gifts.
THE TRAVELLING CRIB
The travelling crib contains a nativity set, candle and cloth to create a worship table. There is also a booklet of suggested readings and prayers if you would like to use them. The Travelling Crib will be given to one child who would like to share it with friends and family at the end of each school day as part of our preparation for Christmas.
FATHER CARL HELPED YEAR 3 IN THEIR RE LESSONS
Year 3 have been learning about Mass and the Eucharist. They attended Mass with the parish and then Father Carl spoke to the children about what it all means and answered their questions.
HARVEST DONATIONS
The children celebrated the harvest with a special Mass and made donations to our local food bank.
